6 Uses For Tarot That You Didn’t Know About

So you probably thought that tarot was all about fortune telling. Well, I am here to tell you that YOU’RE WRONG! There are many many uses for the tarot! Today we are going over 6 of them!

1.) Tarot is a great writing prompt!

Yeah! That’s right! You just shuffle your deck, pull a few cards, and start writing! Well… It isn’t exactly that easy. But that’s basically the gist of it. Each card you pull furthers your story along. It introduces new characters, settings, the climax and the ending. Basically it is like having the illustrations before the story is written. Using the cards as a way to tell a story can also help you understand your cards more intuitively, so if you’re just starting to learn about tarot, this can help a great deal. I plan on writing some short stories this way in the near future, so stay tuned!

2.) Tarot is a great tool to use in witchcraft!

Each card has a different meaning whether you go by the book or you base it off your intuition. When you use the cards in your spell casting, it can add an extra oomph! to your workings. But remember: Intention is everything.

3.) Tarot is great for daily guidance!

I usually pull a card every morning so that I have something to reflect upon during my day. Usually the cards tell me about something i need to watch out for. For example: a bad person, a message, opportunities that I might miss, etc. Other times, the cards will tell me about what my day is going to look like so I can be in the right mindset to deal with whatever is coming. And sometimes, the cards tell me about something I should work on throughout my day. Using tarot this way has been really useful for enriching my life and helping me be prepared to tackle the world head-on. 4.) Tarot is great for getting better perspective.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a difficult time getting out of my own head. I can easily look at my friends’ situations and provide a different perspective for them to reflect upon, but doing it for myself is really difficult. That’s where Tarot comes in! You can reflect upon your situation and how you feel about it while you pull a card. That card will give you the advice or perspective you need to make better and more informed decisions. In fact, this is ultimately what let me to create this website.

5.) Tarot can be a useful tool for developing your psychic abilities.

Do you know what Zenner cards are? If you don’t, they are cards with different shapes and images that you can use to develop your psychic abilities through visualization. You can use tarot cards the same way. You can do this by laying out the cards face down, drawing a card, and trying to guess what it is. Or you can focus on one card; visualizing it in your mind’s eye, and then trying to send that image to a friend to have them guess what card it is. We will go into this more in depth in the future, so don’t worry if you don’t get it right away.

6.) Tarot is a fantastic tool for understanding yourself

I can’t tell you how many times I have done a reading for myself and thought,”Huh.. I never realized I felt this way,” or, “Yeah, that is actually true about me. I never realized that before” Tarot is a great way to understand yourself and to grow as an individual, IF you pay attention.

Whether it is helping you make a big decision, learn more about yourself, or developing your intuitive abilities, tarot is a wonderful guide. If you have any additional uses for tarot, leave a comment below and tell us about it!
